  River State Governor Nyesom Wike has vowed to immortalize the fallen Corp Member Mr Samuel Okonta, who died during the Rivers Rerun Election that took place Saturday in River State.  The Rivers State Governor made this assertion at the NYSC Headquarters in Port Harcourt and promised to assist to ensure that the police fish out the perpetrators of the infamous act.  He added that the state will take care of the late corp member's immediate family.  The Governor  promised that such incidents will not repeat itself anymore as his administration will take steps to ensure better security in the state.  He also informed the Corp Members that their State allowance will be increased from 10,000 to 15,000 for those serving outside of Port Harcourt.  While those serving within the capital will be receiving #10,000 in place of the earlier #5,000.

  The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared  Friday, March 25 and Monday, March 25 as public holidays to mark the Good  Friday and Easter Christian celebrations respectively.   The Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, declared this in a statement in Abuja on Tuesday. The Minister urged Nigerians to use the  occasion to pray for peace and unity across the nation while wishing Nigerians and Christians all over the world happy Easter celebrations.

  Multi-talented Nigerian singer/comedian, Olumuyiwa Osinuga popularly known as Nomoreloss has died.  hHis sister in-law, Dammy Osinuga, confirmed he died this morning from an undisclosed ailment at a hospital in Opebi, Lagos. She said he has been ill since January this year.  Born Olumuyiwa Osinuga, Nomoreloss was a popular singer,songwriter and comedian who thrilled music lovers with the famous Iyawo Asiko that grace airwaves. Many of his colleagues are not aware of  his death. He's survived by a daughter and was just in his late 30s. May his soul rest in peace, Amen. The family has promised to make an official statement disclosing what happened.

  North Korea today Monday fired five short-range projectiles into waters off the country's east coast in an apparent rebuke of joint military exercises underway between the United States and South Korea. The projectiles were launched from a site near the northeastern city of Hamhung and flew about 125 miles before landing in waters off North Korea’s east coast, South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said.  It was not immediately clear if the projectiles were missiles or artillery fire.
