ENDSARS Anniversary: A Nation's Rebirth by Lisa Bassey.

Image
The quest for a Nation's rebirth can almost be likened to the pangs of a woman in labour. It is accompanied by tears, blood, intense pain, and sometimes death.  In October 2020, the youths rose in their numbers to protest against police brutality and to demand that their rights as citizens of Nigeria be upheld and respected. Sadly, it was met with aggressive force by the military and the police, for which some of the unarmed youths paid dearly for with their lives.  I recoiled in pain as I recalled the unfortunate incident which took place on the 20th of October, 2020. The hurt from the wound of this poignant event bleeds within me, forever etched in my memory.  Last year during the first anniversary of ENDSARS, I stated in a deeply moving article titled  In the Web of Political Mystery and Deception  that it was difficult to differentiate truth from farce as a result of the cleverly manipulated mind games and deception from the political class that cou...

THIS HOUSE HAS FALLEN– WHICH WAY APC?

Image
The happenings during the just concluded congress of the All Progressive Congress have revealed the continual dismal state in the party. Almost all states of the federation held two or more congresses in different locations with parallel leaders emerging. The Holy Book says, “A house that fights against itself cannot stand” How can the APC unite as a force to resolve the nation’s overwhelming problems when they are preoccupied with internal conflicts and cannot settle its petty party squabbles?   The leadership problem of Nigeria starts from the ruling party.  How naïvely bold or foolishly confident is the APC in the ludicrous belief that they are stoutly capable to repair this ‘fallen house’ Nigeria which of course its government help to bring to its ruins. APC should come to its senses and call itself to other.  The 2023 Nigerian general elections is by the corner and plans are gearing up underway albeit slowly. The APC has once again shown Nigerians that ev...

IN THE WEB OF POLITICAL MYSTERY AND DECEPTION BY LISA BASSEY

Image
The global political stage will always be a gimmick of the more you look, the less you see. It is a game of intense manipulation, brainwashing and psychological maneuvering where the onlookers are forced to question their rationality and accurate mental stability.  Real life events which are vetted to have occurred become meshed in a blur of doubts as unreal, questionable, like a dream their reality unclear yet  stored somewhere in the subconscious, fighting and struggling to be heard and accepted as the truth but crushed down by the powerful forces that wishes it to be otherwise. This is what played out during the ENDSARS SAGA.  The game of control of power is deep and mysterious. It is high level satanic manipulation. It is occultic deceit of the highest order where one is forced to actually question their mental soundness and ability to see things and accurately interpret what is seen in comparison to what is being propagated. It is a psychological blackmail whe...

Jonah of the 21st Century: Diver survives after being swallowed by a whale

Image
A professional lobster diver who was swallowed by a humpback whale off the coast of Cape Cod, survived the scary incident after the mammal spat him back out.   Michael Packard, 56, was about 45 feet deep in the waters off Provincetown on Friday, June 11, when he “felt a huge bump, and everything went dark". According to him, he thought he had been attacked by a shark but later realized that he could not feel any teeth and he was not in any pain.   “All of a sudden, I felt this huge shove and the next thing I knew it was completely black,” Packard recalled Friday afternoon following his release from Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis. “I could sense I was moving, and I could feel the whale squeezing with the muscles in his mouth.”     “I was completely inside; it was completely black,” Packard said. “I thought to myself, ‘there’s no way I’m getting out of here. I’m done, I’m dead.’ All I could think of was my boys — they’re 12 and 15 years old.”   Mr.Micha...

History 101: What is your status as a Nigerian citizen living in Nigeria.

Image
In 1960, the Premier of the Northern region and Saurdauna of Sokoto, Ahmadu Bello while being interviewed by a BBC journalist boldly declared that the Nigerian government will first consider Northerners (qualified or not) in government positions. He announced that further consideration would be given to foreigners before  other Nigerians.  Here is the text interview. Interviewer: One thing I have noticed while I have been here is that northerners seem to have the worst form of obsession about the Igbos, could please explain that? Ahmadu Bello: Well, the Igbos are mainly the type of people whose desire is to dominate everybody. If they go to the village or town, they want to monopolise everything in that area. If you put them as a labourer, within a year they will try to emerge as the headman of that camp...and so on...well. We are not alive to their responsibilities because you can see from our modernisation policy that in 1952 when I came here, there weas less Northerners in ...

I don't like her. I hate him Part 2.

Image
Do you realize that God shows mercy on unbelievers too? These includes churchgoers who are not saved, free thinkers and people of other religions. Yes he does. Have you noticed people say "oh God made me rich, God gave me a beautiful family, he answered my prayers" yet such people are yet to be saved. Such is the tender loving grace of our God.  However, the greatest blessing a man can ever receive is salvation but God doesn't force that  on anyone.  (Ask and you shall receive).  Even when there is a reason to hate someone, As a Christian you are still required to love such a person.  Let's tell ourselves the hard truth here. No matter what a person does to you, that is the more reason why you ought to love him or her. God has called you to love. Hard facts.. right?  Have you seen, heard or read where someone committed grave harm against another? For instance a thief killed the breadwiner of the family or the only child of the parents was mur...

I don't like her! I hate him. Part 1.

Image
Have you unwittingly found yourself hating someone even when there really was no reason to hate the person? The Lord states that the law has been sumed up into 2 commandments: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, your soul, strength and mind and love your neighbor as yourself. Luke 10:27. The answer to the question of who is a neighbor was beautifully unfolded in the parable of the good Samaritan. It asserts that everyone  you come across is your neighbor irrespective of tribe, race and religion.  As such you're required to love everyone you see. Did I hear you scream impossible?!  Some people who profess to be Christians often get me confuse when they hate on people without a reason. As a believer, you shouldn't even hate on others. Maybe something about the person rubs off wrongly on you and you just can't put your finger on it. How can a man claim to love God whom he has not seen yet hates his brother? Understand that as a Child of...

Peace and Hope in Crisis

Image
Hello guys,  I had a deep impression in my spirit to share this with y'all today. So much negativity is happening both here in Nigeria and in the global scene. The news are enough to make one panic. This is not to mention the personal struggles we go through in our lives as individuals and families.  The Lord says there's peace, succour and strength in Him.    He says, "I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation  and  distress  and  suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.]" John  13:33.  Do not panic. Don't breakdown. Just be still. Let your mind be at rest. You will not be swallowed up by the evil. God will guide you into rest. He is your rest. Jesus ( Yahweh) loves you.  Kisses.

Bravery in Afghanistan.

The sad story of  Kathera is one that breaks many hearts. Living as a woman in Afghanistan, a largely patriarchal society hasn't helped either.  Kathera was sexually and physically abused by her father for 13 years, from age 11 till age 23. Her mom Zainab was beaten and forced to painfully watched the horrifying ordeal.  Kathera got pregnant, endured multiple forced abortions, and had two children for her father. He took one of the babies into the desert where he left it to die.  Kathera's Mom, Zainab unable to bear the abuses anymore took the risk to escape with the children. According to Zahra, nobody listened till she went on TV.  Her father's relations threatened to kill her believing she had brought shame to the family and her death was the only solution. Khatera announcing on National television was a desperate attempt that she knew could have severe consequences in a country where the judiciary system often incriminated women seeking for justice. The abus...

Israel and Hamas: what's your stand?

Image
The territorial problem between Israel and the Palestinians is one that has lingered on for ages, centuries even, considering that Palestine today is the Philistines of Bible times.  However, the last conflict in 2014 was resolved by Egypt. Hamas, a terrorist organization however has taken to firing multiple rockets into israel.  Israel has asserted it's right to self defence by responding with their own missiles into Gaza.  As at May 19, about 212 Palestinians were killed including 63 children while 12 Israelis and 2 children are dead. What are your thoughts on these?

Do you Believe in You?

Paul and Barnabas went about preaching God's words. They entered into the worship place of the Jews otherwise called the synagogue to preach the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Acts 14:1. This was something new... A new preaching different from what the Jews were conversant with. The Jews practiced Judaism and I'm sure it took them a lot of boldness to enter the synagogue to preach what they know others will term as abomination and heresy. Remember the persecution and the death  of Stephen which even Saul an unbelieving Jew then, consented to. But these were filled with power and boldness in the Holy Ghost and the preach the words. Words can lead to salvation and words can lead to destruction. Be careful of words. The  words of Paul and Barnabas caused many Jews and gentiles to believe in God and turn to Christ and there was great joy. But very soon the unbelieving  Jews stirred up trouble by trying to convince the young believers against their faith. In Isreal today y...
